# .o TLD

## Charter

The .o TLD, is to be used by commercial and non-commercial entities (individuals or groups) to promote themselves on the OpenNIC network. This domain is intended to be general-purpose, and as such, registration is open with minimal restrictions.

Use of this TLD is not an inherent right. Domain names may be revoked by the operators or through community processes, particularly in cases involving violations of the policies outlined below.

Domain requirements can be found on "Registration" section of this charter.

“Users” in this charter refers to holders of .o domains.
"Operators" in this charter refers to person or people that operates the .o domains.

## Registration

“.o” domains are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Certain domains may be reserved for operators or policy-related purposes.

Registrations are handled through the official registration system. Domains require:

* A valid user account on the registration website
* At least one working nameserver

All registrations are subject to manual approval before activation.

Registrations are:

* Limited to 1-year periods
* Renewable within 30 days before expiration
* Provided free of charge

Renewing a domain name adds a one-year period to the domain name and can be repeated countless times as long as the renewal conditions are met.

## Abuse

The .o TLD does not tolerate abusive behavior. Use of .o domains for any of the following may result in immediate suspension or termination:

* Domain squatting or cybersquatting
* Spam or unsolicited communications
* Phishing or fraud
* Malware distribution
* Malicious interference with systems (e.g., DDoS attacks)
* Hosting illegal content
* Trademark infringement
* The domain servers are hosted on Türkiye. Any activities that violates the Turkish Law on Regulation of Publications on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed by Means of Such Publication or any Turkish Laws. For example: Gambling, Adult Content, etc.

These policies are aligned with OpenNIC’s general abuse policies. Enforcement relies on both operators review and community reporting.

Domains may be immediately suspended or terminated if found to violate policies. Notice may be provided to the registrant, but immediate action may be taken when necessary.

Domains may also be revoked:

* By operator decision
* Following substantiated abuse reports
* In response to broader OpenNIC community decisions (by voting), if applicable
* In response of legal action

If operators found a website that violates the Turkish Laws, the registrar be also reported to Turkish authorities upon discovery, reports, or official requests.

## Amendments

This charter may be updated at any time by the operators. Continued use of a .o domain constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.
